If you intend to enter the world of 3D printing by getting a machine to start working on your designs from home, surely you have noticed, in case you have started looking for prices, we are talking about a 3D printer more or less economical for this work, today it has a price that can perfectly be around 500 euros, a very high price to simply start working. Because of this, maybe the idea of 101 Hero may be more than interesting.
Under the name of 101 Hero we come across a small 3D printer created by a new American startup. To this day, I can tell you that this printer is just a project, quite mature from what I have been able to understand, but that it needs financing to get to the market, hence the company has relied on a page like Kickstarter to raise the money needed to bring the 101 Hero to market.
Going into a little more detail, although it is more than striking that we can get a unit for a few 45 euros, we find a 3D printer that has dimensions of 253 x 219 x 327 mm, a weight of around 2 kilograms with a diameter for its printing base of 150 mm. As expected, the printer offers compatibility with ABS, PLA or nylon filaments while the filament size has to be 1,75 mm, which means that it uses the standard size that we are used to seeing in the market.
As a final detail, especially if you are interested in participating in the financing campaign, tell you that the printer is available in two versions. On the one hand we have the CV version or basic that loads the designs by means of an SD card while the DV version or advanced, has a USB port and compatibility with open source software.
