This October the 2nd edition of the Printer Party Barcelona and Hardware Libre attended the event.
In this article we will give you details of all activities and workshops of which we were able to enjoy at the event, and you can get an idea of what it was like, thanks to all the photographic material that we included.
This year the event was held in the Casa del Mig, a space located in the Parque de la España Industrial, in Barcelona. There, several volunteers from the Makers 3dPrintBarcelona group, together with the Punt Multimedia staff, organized various activities and workshops in which they tried to bring the world of 3D printing closer and make known.
Workshops
They were made several activities, many of them designed so that they could enjoy the little ones. We have to get used to the idea that 3D printing is not only an activity for adults but it is something that we can do as a family. The children were able to play with some curious and original 3D frogs o participate in a racing car race propelled by balloons.
We could see how our face was transformed into a printable object with a quick and easy scan that only needed a kinect, a PC and the software suitable. We could even use a 3D pen to make 3D sketches directly in the air.
Activities
Several classes of some of the most complete programs in the 3D panorama ( OpenSCAD, Rhino, SketchUp)
Companies
There were several companies that they wanted to be present at the event. And they came to show their products to the attendees of the Printer Party Barcelona. We were able to see countless Cartesian FDM printers, some Delta FDM printers, an SLA printer, 3D scanners, a CNC router and even a laser engraver.
Makers
There was even various makers who, personally, wanted to enrich the day showing his projects. We were able to see robotic arms, synthesizers, printers with electronic recycling, and much more. Because any interesting project had a place on this day.
Conclusion
We enjoyed a lot with the event and the day flew by. You could see all the participants very dedicated and willing to “mess” even the curious, who, walking through the park, only came to see what was in the tents set up.
We hope that the success obtained encourage the organization to prepare a third edition Bigger next year, with more events and even a couple of food stands. That way we won't even need to stop to eat.
