BioCarbon ensures that its drones can already plant up to 100.000 trees in an hour

BioCarbon

It is not the first time that we talk about drones of BioCarbon, a company that for many years has been working on the development of a project through which entire forests can be reforested using the best technology available to us, which offers great results in other market sectors and in this, it can literally be vital.

Without putting ourselves in a situation, we must comment that today humans cut down about 15.000 billion trees a year. The downside is that in exchange for this cutting down of trees only approximately 9.000 billion trees are being planted per year literally because we don't have the capacity or pace to reforest.

We need new 'ways' to be able to reforest our forests at the same speed as we cut them down

One of the big problems we have lies in the way in which we reforest our forests, literally human labor is used, something that makes this process slow and expensive, in addition to the fact that the work can be enormously complicated depending on the area and whether access to it is simpler or extremely difficult. It is precisely at this point where BioCarbon technology can greatly facilitate this work.

Although in 2016 this technology was already available, their drones were only capable of planting about 36.000 seeds per day, their algorithms were modified so that in 2017 they could already plant up to 100.000 seeds per day although, now, we know that in its latest version BioCarbon drones are capable of planting up to 100.000 trees every hour.

As was the case before, this system uses two types of drones to carry out its work. In the first place, a drone is in charge of mapping the entire terrain and making a digital simulation in 3D so that, thanks to these maps, an algorithm is able to calculate a suitable planting pattern. Once this calculation has been made, an army of drones are in charge of distributing the seeds completely autonomously.
