Murcia will monitor its forests with the help of drones

Murcia

Murcia It is one of those cities that, after launching certain programs related to new technologies, seems to have seen first-hand all the advantages of using these technologies and they want to take them to the more fields the betterYou have proof of what I say in how this type of technology is already used to monitor the waters of the Mar Menor although, now and due to the problems with fire, they want to do the same with the forests of the entire province.

As has been revealed, a project has just been developed in Murcia in which, through the use of artificial intelligence systems They want to prevent forest fires, a pioneering initiative at the national level where all the data stored in the different databases related to this type of event will be mixed and that store information on the latest catastrophes that have occurred for more than ten years.

Murcia will use a mixture of drones and artificial intelligence systems to detect possible areas that could catch fire

All this information will finally be used by an algorithm that will be able to encrypt the fire risk reliability index and offer, in each case, the measures to be taken. Thanks to the use of all this information, a planning can be carried out with which to avoid, as far as possible, the occurrence of all kinds of fires caused by natural causes so that, in the event of any, the damage is minimal.

In order to carry out this project, drones will be used to carry out specific flights over these areas so that, through the aforementioned artificial intelligence system, they can be identify certain aspects of them such as the amount of dry vegetation, areas with natural alterations or other types of appearance that are difficult to detect and that can entail risks.
