Dubai

Nokia has just released a press release announcing the agreement reached with the United Arab Emirates to develop a drone traffic control system in the country's airspace. In order to develop this system, Nokia must work together with the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority, that is, with the civil aviation authority of the nation.

In this way, Nokia becomes the first company to carry out a project of this type in Dubai, which has the ultimate objective of supporting the authorities when it comes to managing flight permits with drones, regulate restricted flight areas and ensure safety in BVLOS operations. The intention of in the United Arab Emirates is to be able to have controlled all the unmanned aircraft within the reduced airspace of the nation.

Nokia will be in charge of developing a control system for Dubai's air traffic.

Among the systems that will be deployed in the country, highlight the UTM o Unmanned Traffic Management, a system based on the use of LTE protocols that will monitor all airspace and flight routes in real time. As expected, in order to coordinate the airspace with both users and those in charge of controlling it, information will be sent to both on the state of traffic.

As a detail, tell you that Dubai is not the only city where Nokia will install a system of this type, recently an agreement has been reached with the airport of the Dutch city of Twente to carry out a field test and demonstrate to both users and potential interested agencies, the capabilities of the field.
