Spain could start using drones to protect the country's borders

country borders

Although Spain is not a country that we can classify as warlike or that has problems with its neighboring countries, the truth is that if it has certain borders that concern both Spain and the European Union in general, we speak, as surely you will be thinking, of the borders located in the cities of Ceuta and Melilla.

With this in mind, let me tell you that just a few days ago, no less than eleven ministers of the interior of the European Union attended an event related to the system in the Rectorate of the University of Malaga Surveiron, a method for the control and management of a complete fleet of drones that has been developed by the Malaga company Aerorum.

Spain develops a platform to incorporate drones to the surveillance of its borders.

This experience fits perfectly with the idea that they have in the Secretary of State for Security, José Antonio Nieto, regarding the possible incorporation of drones for surveillance at the Spanish borders. To all this, we must add that the event was also attended by representatives of ENLETS, the drone working group of the European network of police forces.

Returning to the project, it should be noted that Surveiron is a project created in Spain with the collaboration of entities such as the Civil Guard, the National Police Corps or directly the entire Secretary of State for Security. Thanks to the good idea behind the project, the European Commission financed it through the Executive Agency AEASME.

The real interesting functionality of Surveiron is that this platform is capable of coordinate the shipment of drones equipped with the necessary technology in each case in order to collect and send information to a control center and reproduce it in three dimensions in order to get human operators to evaluate them simultaneously in a much faster and easier way.
