These disposable cardboard drones are ideal for delivering medicine

disposable drones

Once more DARPA is responsible for a very interesting project, which has been presented as the solution to many problems, especially health, since we are talking about disposable drones made, for example, of cardboard that would be able to deliver medicines in remote areas but that, knowing Since DARPA is the United States Military Agency for Advanced Projects, it will surely also be used for other kinds of purposes that have not been disclosed.

Even so, the truth is that the idea is very interesting since thanks to the use of cardboard we are facing a way to create very cheap drones. Being disposable, in turn, we can stop worrying about different situations such as the autonomy of a specific model, that is, the fact that we use a drone to deliver any merchandise and it may run out of battery on the trip. round trip.

DARPA presents its small disposable drones.

On the other hand, as you can see in the image in the header of this same post, we are talking about a drone made of cardboard that does not have a motor so ... How can you get to your destination? Apparently, at DARPA they would have developed a very simple and effective method, these disposable drones would be launched from an airplane and, thanks to the fact that they are equipped with a small computer inside and sensors on the wings, they can reach their destination planning and even find a clear area to land.

At this point, tell you that for the development of these drones DARPA is working with OtherLab. At the moment, this system is being tested in isolated areas of Rwanda (Africa) with quite satisfactory results. On the other hand, it should be noted that work is already underway on the second generation of these disposable airplanes where, apparently, materials extracted from a fungus would be used so that the airplanes are truly 100% recyclable so that, once they land on the ground, they disintegrate. within a few days without risk of contamination.
