This is how the new collection of glasses manufactured by 3D printing from OXYDO looks like

OXYDO

OXYDO, a well-known Italian eyewear brand, has just surprised us with its new collection, a series of models that stand out for the use of 3D printing to manufacture their structure. This new collection, as its managers have commented, has been possible thanks to the collaboration agreement they have reached with the company Materialise, a 3D printing giant with more than 30 years of experience in the sector.

As has been commented from the OXYDO company itself, apparently these glasses have seen the light thanks to the interest of the company in developing a new line with a very youthful and fresh appearance capable of combining in the same product the ideas of design, lightness and comfort and, for this, they have decided to bet on the manufacture of glasses frames using 3D printing, a technology that allowed them to manufacture very complex structures and shapes in a very simple way and fast.

OXYDO relies on Materialize for the manufacture of its new range of glasses with frames manufactured by 3D printing

As commented Alizer parandian, director of the project and of the team in charge of the development of this product:

At Materialize, our goal has always been to go beyond the limits set by the sector. With OXYDO and its leading position in the eyewear market, we have found a partner whose ambitions are very similar to ours.

The eyewear and additive manufacturing sectors have formed a sibiotic relationship in which each player helps the next player to place the barrier that marks the limits a little further. I am looking forward to where this partnership will take us next time.

With OXYDO, lightness is more than just a practical consideration, it is the foundation for a vision. The frames of the glasses are inspired by that spirit of OXYDO to transform world art. Thanks to this the glasses are considered as authentic sculptures.
