The well-known Dutch company ultimaker, through its marketing department, has just released an official press release announcing the creation and arrival of no less than four new materials to work with in its 3D printers. Thanks to this move, the company tries to enter a much more professional market since these materials are not so demanded at a personal or educational level, sectors where they are clear references.

On the other hand, as you can read in the press release, Ultimaker assured that the demand for this type of material for professional and industrial use is growing considerably in recent months continuously, which is why they have decided offer options beyond PLA, material, as you surely know, used in a very usual and common way in particular environments, especially at the domestic level.

Among the options presented by the company, first of all, we are faced with a new variety of CPE that Ultimaker already sells. This variety has been baptized as CPE + and it is none other than a co-polyester capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 100 degrees centigrade, offers resistance to chemical attacks and maintains a very acceptable dimensional stability.

On the other hand and as true novelties we find the incorporation of a polycarbonate filament offering strength up to 110 degrees Celsius and high hardness and machined strength, Nylon filament with low sensitivity to moisture and low friction or polyurethane filament, an elastomer with a Shore A hardness of 95 and an elongation at break of 580%. This last material is mainly used in applications where good flexibility and chemical resistance are necessary, such as footwear.
