Adafruit creates the smallest arcade machine in the world

Recreational Machine

The Retropie and Raspberry Pi project has made it possible to recover old arcade video games, so much so that there are various projects that seek create an engaging and personal arcade machine for the rest of the Community.

But what Adafruit and his team have created is something unusual and that surely many will try to recreate. Philip Burgess has created an arcade machine from Raspberry Pi Zero and retropie. But not an ordinary arcade machine but rather the smallest arcade machine on the market.

This arcade machine is created thanks to the Pi Zero and the Retropie project

The resulting arcade machine has a nearly one-inch OLED screen, functional controls that connect to the board, and two ports, a USB port and an HDMI port, in addition to the typical microusb port that powers the device.

But by carrying Retropie, the arcade machine also has the ability to run older video games like Pacman or SuperMario, video games that we can control thanks to the inserted controls and expand thanks to the ports that the arcade machine has. The measurements of this arcade machine are really small, 67 x 33 x 25mm in total. Measures that make the arcade machine enter the palm of our hand.

Unfortunately, this project, although it has the approval of the Adafruit community, cannot be purchased directly in Adafruit or in another store, but we can build it with components from this store or another store since the components are familiar and simple, something that in addition to facilitating its construction also makes the project affordable for our pockets. But if you really don't care about the size, know that there are other similar projects but with more powerful hardware. Something bigger but with the same fun.
