Adidas

Adidas, a company related to the world of sports whose image of brand and design in sportswear is well known by all, has just announced that its tests with 3D printing will not finally stop at that, but have already started work on the construction of a new factory in the city of Ansbach, Germany, which they plan to open in 2017 and which will be equipped with enough material to make shoes by 3D printing.

The final goal that they have set in Adidas is to achieve produce a total of 500.000 shoes per year using 3D printing techniques. All these shoes will be destined for the European market while, to supply the needs of the North American market, as we discussed at the time, the company will build another factory in the city of Atlanta. As you can see, after all this time, Adidas has finally proven to be more than interesting to incorporate this type of technology in their factories.

Adidas will open a new factory in Germany to produce shoes using 3D printing techniques.

As you well remember, just a few weeks ago Adidas made the news since, to test everything that this technology could offer, they decided to put on sale a specific model of sneakers created by 3D printing, which finally reached the market at a price of $ 333 a pair and that, as the days went by, they were sold for $ 3.000 on second-hand goods portals such as eBay.

As you can see, enough reasons for Adidas since it was demonstrated that an article like this could be very well seen in the market by the brand's customers. Returning to the factory that the company will build in Germany, it will be equipped with enough 3D printers to have to hire 160 people for its maintenance. Even so, you are 160 people this is far fewer than the more than 1.000 required by one of its traditional factories.
