Airblock, a modular drone ideal for learning programming

Makeblock is one of those companies that, since its inception, have based their business model on the idea of offering technologically interesting products such as drones, robots ... developed in such a way that they can serve all kinds of people to enter the world of 3d print. This time we are introduced to Airblock, a modular drone specially designed so that the youngest of the house, or anyone interested, can learn to program.

Airblock is served in a kit where we find the different components necessary to assemble the drone, basically they are six modules of a propeller and a central piece where the processor is located. As you can see in the video that is located just below these lines, all the pieces are made of a very light plastic foam, ideal to protect the piece in the event of a blow and to protect users from possible accidents.

A very interesting detail of the project is found in that, to fit some modules with others, no tools are necessary since they have been equipped with a magnetic system with which to join the pieces very easily. Depending on how you decide to combine all the available pieces, you can get either a hexacopter with which you can fly and move wherever you want or a nice hovercraft.

Once you have decided on the structure of your Airblock and you have assembled it, it is time to program its operation. For this task, the project managers have developed an app, available for iOS and Android mobile devices. This application is in charge of getting you, step by step, to learn to program in a language very similar to Scratch. If you are interested in what this project offers, just tell you that you can get an Airblock at a price of U.S. dollar 99, about 90,25 euros to change, through Kickstarter.
