Airbus and Dedrone sign an agreement to increase security at airports

Airbus - Dedrone agreement

dedrones, a startup specialized in drone detection, and Airbus has just announced a collaboration agreement in which it is intended to carry out a project through which it can be increase security at airports and put an end to all those drones that, as we have seen on occasions, can get the airspace of the same to be closed in the event of possible accidents.

For this, both Dedrone and Airbus are working together with a project called Airbus DS Electronics and Border Security. The main objective is to detect drones that fly in restricted airspace or in areas where people or other aerial vehicles may be in danger.

Airbus joins Dedrone to try to improve security in all types of airports and restricted flight areas.

In order to achieve the objective of this ambitious project, the long range radars of Airbus work together with the drone interference systems developed by Dedrone. As a detail, tell you that Dedrone's technology is currently being used in prisons, in tasks related to the energy sector or in other places where drones have their flight restricted, including, for example, the Citi Field stadium in the New York Mets.

Now, despite the fact that Dedrone has finally been chosen by Airbus for its project, the truth is that it is not the only startup that has seen its business opportunity in the security failure of the airport facilities. Along this line, for example, we can talk about skysafe that today works on a system capable of identifying the offending drone, locating its operator and, if necessary, even taking control of the drone itself.
