Airbus is already working on a new series of drones capable of unloading ships

At Airbus They know very well the benefits that entering a market such as shipping can entail, a sector that perhaps still resists them but for which they already have an idea as striking as that of developing a new generation of drones capable of take care of unloading boats themselves.

Going into a little more detail, at Airbus they go much further since they literally try to get rid of all that traffic of trucks that day by day depart and arrive at ports around the world. The idea is as simple as managing to unload and later load a freight ship with drones without the ship itself having to dock in a port.

Airbus shows us its drones capable of autonomously unloading ships.

The formula is very simple, the ship would position itself in a geolocated place and send all the references of the merchandise that it transports to the port. From there, a swarm of drones would fly to the ship carrying the packages for, later, directly go to the address where they should be delivered. Once the ship is empty, it will begin to be loaded with merchandise arriving from the port itself or from an address.

As a detail, tell you that these new drones are by no means a project that is beginning to be developed, but already are being tested in Singapore. As for the vehicles themselves, it should be noted that it has opted for an architecture of eight rotors with the capacity to load packages at the bottom and move through predetermined air corridors. The carrying capacity of these drones is between two and four kilograms.

At the moment the clients of this new project, how could it be otherwise, are the large distribution companies such as Walmart, Amazon or even the Chinese company JD.
