A copy of the Nintendo NES appears that uses Raspberry Pi and Arduino

Nintendo NES

After the launch and relative success of the game console WhistlingMany have tried to copy or launch their own version of retro game consoles, always using free hardware.

At this point even Nintendo itself has decided to release a working reproduction of the Nintendo NES, but the latest version or copy that they have created of the Nintendo NES I think it is much superior to the current versions that exist on the market and we can even recreate at home since it uses Raspberry Pi, Arduino and 3D printing for its construction. And all with the possibility of using cartridges, cartridges with reduced dimensions.

The instructions for this copy of Nintendo NES are free and public for its realization

The modification has been made by daftmike user, a user who has not only created a printable Nintendo NES design, but has also used software that allows us to use reduced cartridges that will work just like the original cartridges. The operation of these cartridges is special because they are plastic cartridges that have an NFC tag with information about the title of the video game. In the cartridge there is another NFC tag that when connected to the cartridge, receives the information and opens the corresponding game in Retropie.

Nintendo Modification

The operating system that Raspberry Pi will have will be the famous retropie with a considerable load of roms with Nintendo NES video games. In this copy, the Arduino board acts as a manager not only of the remote controls but also of the information that the NFC tags provide, an interesting use that will make this copy of NES more powerful and functional than the original version. Unfortunately, this copy of Nintendo NES is not exact, it has a reduced size just like the new official version that will appear in a few months.
