Increase the autonomy of your drone thanks to these revolutionary hydrogen batteries

hydrogen batteries

The University of Valladolid A new paper comes to us where we are told about the work carried out by two of its researchers in the field of batteries for drones. As they themselves tell in the publication, they have managed to create a series of batteries for drones that make use of hydrogen capable of providing the devices that use them with a much greater autonomy. This project, baptized with the name of lightenergy, has just been awarded the Indra Model2Market award, which gives it an amount of 10.000 euros.

As a detail, it should be noted that in the Model2Market this year a total of 463 universities from 12 different countries have participated. This program has been developed within the Spin2016 framework, in turn driven by Entrepreneurial Network where Banco Santander collaborates. Undoubtedly the most interesting framework to get the necessary support to continue with any investigation or receive the necessary push to start your own company.

Light Energy proposes a hydrogen battery to extend the autonomy of any drone.

After the Light Energy project we find Luis Miguel Sanz Moral y Miriam Rueda Noriega They have managed to develop a lighter and more compact hydrogen storage system, something that, as they themselves indicate, they have achieved thanks to the use of fuel cells that contain hydrogen itself. Thanks to this it has been achieved notably increase autonomy of any drone that uses this class of hydrogen batteries.

As a final detail, tell you that, in addition to having won this award, last June they also got the award for the best idea of the YUZZ center in Valladolid and was chosen as one of the 49 participants who will travel to Silicon Valley in October (USA). The intention of these Spanish engineers is to present the project in November.
