Autodesk becomes new investor in 3D Robotics

Autodesk

Autodesk, a well-known company specializing in the development of design software such as the AutoCAD program, a tool used mainly in engineering, architecture and infrastructure design, has just announced a capital investment in 3D Robotics through the Forge Fund, a $ 100 million investment fund created by Autodesk itself.

As a detail, tell you that the investment fund Autodesk Forge Fund is the branch of the company that is dedicated to investing in companies that work with innovative technology or services that in some way may be related to the platform developed by the Californian company itself, which is dedicated to offering its users all kinds of information about services of design, engineering and even visualization among others.

However… Why did Autodesk look to 3D Robotics? Basically everything has to do with the use that the 3D Robotics company makes of the Forge Platform in the aerial data collection and its subsequent analysis. This system is increasingly used by companies in the energy sector, construction, surveillance work, 3D mapping and even telecommunications. As a detail, tell you that, although we know, because the two companies have made it official, of the investment, unfortunately the exact amount of it is not known.

Finally, just remind you that this is just one more step since this is not the only collaboration that 3D Robotics and Autodesk have today, there is still a project that is maturing, baptized with the name of Site Scan, where Sony would also enter. This project would aim to collect accurate data and process it to be displayed in an efficient and sensitive manner according to the needs of each company.
