Banana Pi BPI-M2 Berry, the Banana Pi alternative to Raspberry Pi 3

Banana Pi BPI-M2 Berry

Like the Raspberry Pi, there are many other boards with fruit names. We haven't heard of the Banana Pi project for a long time, but that doesn't mean they haven't been working on new versions. Recently a Banana Pi board model has been launched that is on par with the Raspberry Pi 3. This model is known by the name of Banana Pi BPI-M2 Berry.
This board does not have a Broadcom processor like Raspberry Pi, but it does have a known processor, a 32-bit AllWinner processor. Accompanying this processor, Banana Pi BPI-M2 Berry has 1 Gb of ram memory and 2 Gb of ram memory in the ultra version.

Banana Pi BPI-M2 Berry comes with an AllWinner processor

The Ultra version contains 8 Gb of eMMC storage while the standard version does not have eMMC storage. The GPU of this board is the Mali-400 MP2. The board also has a wifi and bluetooth module for wireless connections. The rest of the connections are the same as in many SBC cards, that is, an hdmi port, an ethernet port, usb ports, microusb port, one GPIO port plus, reset and power buttons. This model, like previous Banana Pi models, is compatible with Gnu / Linux, Ubuntu and Android.

The Banana Pi BPI-M2 Berry board is three dollars cheaper than the Raspberry Pi 3, but in return we have a less powerful plate than the raspberry plate. The new Banana Pi board has a 32-bit processor while the Raspberry Pi has a 64-bit processor. In return, Banana Pi BPI-M2 Berry has a version with 2 Gb of ram memory, which makes it interesting for many projects that need a lot of ram memory.

Banana Pi BPI-M2 Berry It is already available in large stores such as Aliexpress or Taobao and with low prices. Banana Pi BPI-M2 Berry is a great board, but it is true that it does not have as much community as Raspberry Pi, on the other hand its power is not as significant so it seems that it is not a rival for Raspberry Pi, but since it costs three dollars less than the raspberry computer, worth a try Do not you think?
