BeagleBone Black Wireless is now available

BeagleBone Black Wireless

A few hours ago it was made available to the public the BeagleBone Black Wireless, a small SBC board that is perfect for IoT solutions but with a little high price.

This new board of the BeagleBone family differs from others by your ability to communicate wirelessly, thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi module that differs from other sbc boards of the same family.

BeagleBone Black Wireless thus tries to offer the same functions as Raspberry Pi, but of course it has neither the same power nor the same possibilities.

BeagleBone Black Wireless carries an AmLogic processor with 512 Mb of ram, 4 Gb of internal storage, a 3D GPU, its chip uses floating point NEON technology and has two 46-pin headers.

In terms of ports, the BeagleBone Black Wireless has a microusb port, a microhdmi port, an Ethernet port that complements the wifi module and a USB host port with two USB outputs.

In terms of software, BeagleBoneBlack Wireless is able to run Debian with node.js but also operating systems based on Gnu / Linux such as Ubuntu and other distributions, but yes, adapted to the board.

In some countries it is not yet distributed (in Spain it has not yet arrived), but in those that it is, BeagleBone Black Wireless will have an approximate price of 66 euros, a very high price if we take into account its competitors, such as Raspberry Pi, competitors that are offered for less money and have more power.

In any case, BeagleBone Black wireless is geared towards IoT projects, unlike other boards that are oriented to be also minipc, projects that need little power but if a lot of communications and a reduced size, something that this new board from BeagleBone perfectly fulfills Do not you think?
