BioCarbon Engineering shows its specific drone for reforestation tasks

BioCarbon Engineering

BioCarbon Engineering is a company specialized in reforestation work and, in order to be much more efficient in its work, in recent months they have been working on a system to help in this work. Thanks to this, a peculiar project has been created in which two drones would be in charge of the automatic planting of seeds, which could be used to replant large areas of land with trees in much less time than using conventional means.

Going into a little more detail, we realize that BioCarbon Engineering uses two drones because each of them does completely different jobs. On the one hand we have the first drone which is in charge of mapping tasks, analyzing the terrain and preparing the seed dissemination process while, as you may be thinking, the second unity It is in charge of the sowing work, depositing the seeds on the ground by means of a system by which a series of pods with already germinated seeds and a nutritive hydrogel that favors the growth of the trees are fired.

As you can see, the guys at BioCarbon Engineering have managed to create a much faster and above all economical method than processes carried out by hand. Thanks to this method and according to the forecasts of the company itself, it is intended to achieve plant a total of 1.000 billion trees each year In this way, the current problem of deforestation we are experiencing is significantly reduced, where, according to the latest studies, a total of 6.660 million trees are destroyed annually.

As a final detail, tell you that the company, at the time, already received European funds to establish a supply chain and prepare the project. Now the activity is focused on increasing the scale, improving the seed dispersal system and above all attract new investors and collaborators interested in this interesting initiative. Thanks to this method, we are a little closer to the true objective of the European Union, which is to move away from traditional methods of production and consumption of natural resources in order to move towards a sustainable circular economy on its own.
