Bugatti will start manufacturing brake calipers for its vehicles using 3D printing

Bugatti

By now, whether we like cars or not, surely we all know the name of Bugatti, a company of French origin although currently run by the Volkswagen Group, which boasts of offering all its wealthy customers what they call the fastest car on the planet, a company that tries to be up-to-date in terms of technology, hence they have been testing for a long time what the Print 3D.

As has been officially reported, apparently at Bugatti, after many months of testing, they have announced that they will begin to manufacture the brake calipers of their vehicles, a piece of titanium, making use of different 3D printing technologies.

Bugatti announces that they already have the necessary technology and medotologies to manufacture titanium brake calipers by 3D printing

According to the press release launched by the French manufacturer itself, apparently and thanks to the use of 3D printing, new clamps have been designed where minimum weight is guaranteed together with the highest possible stiffness. To put this in perspective, tell you that the company's engineers have already managed to manufacture a caliper model in an alloy of aerospace titanium, material that is usually used in the manufacture of trains, components for the wing of airplanes or rocket engines.

As has been commented from the company itself:

It was a very emotional moment for the team when we held our first titanium 3D printer brake caliper in our hands. In terms of volume, this is the largest functional component produced from titanium using additive manufacturing methods. Everyone who looks at the piece is surprised how light it is, despite its large size.

There will come a time when practically everything will be possible through 3D printing, this technology is fascinating, with the Lion 2 printer I have printed some mechanical parts and they are very equal to the originals.

The Lion 2 has also worked very well for me, especially in robotic parts
