Caterpillar shows us the benefits of its new bricklaying robot

Caterpillar

Today we meet to talk about the latest creation of Caterpillar, one of the most famous construction machinery manufacturers worldwide that surprises us with a bricklayer robot baptized with the name of Hadrian. Before continuing, tell you that this particular robot has been developed by the Australian company Fastbrick robotics being the only incentive for Caterpillar to have decided to invest a large amount of money in it.

This new robot has been created with the aim of being able to manufacture a house in a matter of hours since, among its most interesting characteristics, it stands out that it can place hundreds of bricks thanks to a laser guidance system linked to the design of the home itself through a model 3D CAD.

Caterpillar invests in a robot capable of placing 1.000 bricks in just one hour of work

As if it were a bricklayer, this robot, before presenting and placing the brick, applies an adhesive binder instead of using the traditional cement. With all this we are facing a robot that, according to its developers, is capable of lay up to 1.000 bricks per hour taking into account at all times the areas where you should not place them because there will be a window, door ...

At the moment Caterpillar has already invested 2 millones de euros so that this robot continues with its development phase and improvements while they have committed to reinvesting others 8 millones de euros if all the deadlines set in terms of development are met in the next 12 months. According Mike pivac, CEO of Fastbrick Robotics:

We are very happy at Fastbrick Robotics to sign this agreement with a company like Caterpillar and thus welcome them as a new shareholder. Caterpillar is a recognized global leader and we look forward to working with them soon and bringing our teams together to share ideas, continue to innovate, and exploit opportunities to commercialize our unique technology.
