Not long ago we learned about this famous project called Chromium for SBC and despite its good reception and its success, the bad news is already looming over this software. Apparently, the head of the project has released a statement about the developers of the project, need developers to keep building Chromium OS for SBC.
In recent months several developers have had to leave the project due to personal reasons or work on other projects that require more time and effort. That is why currently Chromium OS for SBC has gone dormant until new developers decide to participate and continue with this project. For the moment, the project leader, Dylan callahan, goes ahead with it and states that he will implement new ideas and developments that he has in mind but needs help to do so as well as users who help him with some scalability tests that he needs to do.
Chromium OS for SBC will continue although only Dylan Callahan will work
Anyone can join the Chromium OS development group for SBCAlthough it would be ideal for the collaborator to be a developer, anyone who has an interest and makes an effort for the project is also accepted. An interest and effort that helps to develop the project, either through its code or through other aspects that are often forgotten in software development. So, to join you only have to visit the official project website and get in touch with the team (what's left of the team).
The truth is that this news is not very flattering to our ears. Chromium OS for SBC is a great project that opened the possibility of being able to use Raspberry Pi as a platform for Chrome OSHowever, with this news it seems that it will take us a while to see a mature version of this operating system on our raspberry computer. Hopefully this call will be successful and many developers can participate in this curious and striking project.
