Build a homemade drone with an Arduino board and a 3D printer

flying drone with Arduino

With an Arduino board or a Raspberry board you can build any gadget. There is no doubt about this, but until today, few are the makers who have managed to build a flying drone with an Arduino board.

A teenager named Nikodem Bartnik has created a flying homemade drone, a flight device that is controlled by an Arduino board, in this case the MPU-6050 model. The quadcoptero is a model that works and also a model that we can replicate at any time.

Nikodem Bartnik used his 3D printer to create the structure that the flying drone will have. To this structure he added the propellers, motors, a rechargeable battery and an Arduino MPU-6050 board. The MPU-6050 board was in charge of controlling all the operation of the flying drone as well as connect to a remote control that Bartnik had created to control the flight.

As you can see, the components of this drone are quite inexpensive and easy to get. And more if we have a 3D printer in our house. However, such a thing does not seem very easy without the program code. That is why the Instructables page of the project is extremely valuable.

Bartnik has published the entire project in an Instructables page so any user can use the guide to build their own flying drone. On the web we will find not only the software and the complete list of components but also the print files that we can use for free and free.

The project still needs many improvements to make it work like professional drones, but without a doubt it is an interesting project to cover the basic needs, that is, to have a basic flying drone.
