Create a replica of the Nissan Quashqai using 3D pencils

Nissan quashqai

Nissan has just announced the market launch of a very special version based on the best-seller Nissan quashqai, a model that will now receive the nickname of Black Edition. In order to publicize this release, it has been decided to commission the artist Grace du prez nothing less than the creation of a Nissan Quashqai using pencils 3Doodler, a 3D printing pencil with which it has been possible to shape a sculpture 4.4 meters long and 1,6 meters high.

According to what has been published, the artist seems to have needed a whopping 800 working hours, no less than 3 weeks of hard effort, to make the sculpture you see on screen come true. As a detail, the 3Doodler used has spent 13,8 kilometers of plastic filament. Based on the statements made by Grace Du Prez:

I've been drawing with 3Doodler pencils for several years now, but this is by far my most ambitious project to date. This demonstrates the progress of 3D printing technology and how it can be used.

As for the 3D pencil used, as the artist author of this impressive work has commented, we are talking about the 3Doodler, a system capable of heat PLA filament to 230 degree centigrade before extruding through a 0,7mm tip. This means that the author has only had a surface of 0,7 mm to draw, as has been the case, an entire car, undoubtedly an arduous task that involves a rather impressive difficulty.

One of the complications that Prez has had to face is the fact of having to draw a glass ceiling since the original model in its limited version is equipped with one. For this and, given the impossibility of being able to draw it, the artist decided to use light gray panels, which is also present in other areas such as the front and rear windshield and the side windows.
