Create a SmartLamp thanks to Arduino

SmartLamp

A few days ago, Amazon has introduced a new version of the Amazon Echo. A version that improves your virtual assistant and that is partly the result of personal projects that were born to satisfy personal needs. The SmartLamp project may be the result of this and even companies like Amazon or Google decide to create something similar.

The draft SmartLamp is the work of Nikodem Bartnik, a maker user who has used a plate of Arduino UNO to create this smart device that we can place on our desk.

The project was born due to Nikodem's need to answer by phone and perform certain actions while working. So, it occurred to him put a virtual assistant on your desk lamp. Thus, he chose a lamp model that could be printed and incorporated various elements.

SmartLamp can be connected to our mobile, tablet and even computer to give access to a virtual assistant

After printing, Nikodem decided to add a virtual assistant, this succeeds adding a plate Arduino UNO with a bluetooth shield that helps to connect the lamp to a smart device like a smartphone. This union offers the functions of smart devices to the lamp.

We can build this project thanks to the build guide which has been posted on Instructables. But we can also build a personal version in which Arduino is replaced by a Raspberry Pi Zero W board and the SmartLamp is more powerful if possible, without the need to depend on a smartphone.

This SmartLamp project will give a lot to talk about, like other devices have given, such as the famous smart mirror, a device without much utility but famous for making the mirrors in a house "smart". However How many will make their lamps smart? What do you think of this SmartLamp project?
