They create a wall with LED lights and a Raspberry Pi

Construction of wall of lights.

A veces hay proyectos de Hardware Libre que son muy útiles para nuestro día a día y a veces hay otros proyectos que no son nada útiles pero que no dejan de ser interesantes. En este último grupo podríamos encuadrar to the wall that has been built with LED lights and a Raspberry Pi.

Un muro que no tiene mucha utilidad pero que no deja de asombrar a todo el mundo que lo ve y además ha sido construido con Hardware Libre.

This project tries to recreate other similar projects but with proprietary Hardware. The most striking of them all is the one created by Google to make it work your anypixel.js software project. In this case we have something similar but everything is created with LED lights that have been programmed to function as pixels on a color screen.

This wall of LED lights has been built with more than 2000 lights

Then, these lights have been connected to a Raspberry Pi board that is capable of managing the light that each light has to emit, with what the result is a large screen, a screen that is the size of a wall.

Many have dubbed this project "the wall of LED lights" although his real name is RIO (Rendered-Input-Output). Despite the fact that this project is totally free, the architect of all this is a group called Solid State. A group that has attracted attention with its wall and that they were not looking for a utility for it but simply to do it.

But surely a utility will be found to this project, at least that will happen thanks to this group that has released all the information about the project and has even published a step-by-step guide on how to build a similar device, something that we can find in the github repository.

Personally I find it interesting and this wall could be very useful as a substitute for a color screen, at least it will save energy Do not you think?
