The CSIC will begin to use the most advanced 3D bioprinter today

El CSIC, Spanish Higher Council for Scientific Research, has just announced that they have reached an agreement with Aether, a company based in the United States and the Queensland University of Technology, in Australia, through which it is intended to promote research in 3D bioprinting.

Specifically, what is expected is to help the development of the 3D bioprinter developed by the Aether company in order to achieve further fine-tune and enhance its impressive capabilities achieving, among all the entities of the agreement, to finally achieve a much more capable and interesting product.

The CSIC will be equipped with the most advanced 3D bioprinter in the world.

As the company comments, the idea of equipping the CSIC with 3D bioprinting equipment arose after the publication of the article titled as 3D bioprinting of functional human skin: production and in vivo analysis by the CSIC researcher Nieves Cube Mateo.

As for the company, tell you that Aether is a startup based in the city of San Francisco created with a single objective, to create and develop 3D bioprinting equipment. In this way, the Aether 1 is the first model to reach the market, today, this machine is considered the most advanced in the world and, among its most interesting features, it should be noted that it is capable of working with up to 24 different materials, it can work with artificial vision for air pressure calibration, calibration and automatic leveling of the nozzles ...

As a detail, just tell you that the 3D Aether 1 bioprinter is still in phase 'beta'as it has yet to finish development. In this way, the CSIC will receive a machine that can only be used for experimental research in the combination of multiple materials and manufacturing methods, something that fits perfectly with the objectives of the Spanish center.
