A very interesting field that has a lot of future is Free Hardware applied to the world of toys. This field not only creates new toys but it can help the little ones learn programming or new technologies from a very young age. Such is the case of Cube, a toy for the little ones that little by little will teach small homeowners how to program.
There are already a few robotics and electronics kits on the market that offer the same, the difference with Cubetto is that Cubetto does not have a touch screen or other type of screen, so the child learns based on the use of components.
Cubetto is created with Arduino but does not need any screen to work
Cubetto is not only made up of the cube that you see but also of other elements that they will help the little ones to learn programming without having to depend on a computer. Thus Cubetto consists of a physical programming console, a set of expandable coding blocks, a collection of illustrated maps and an activity book. All this allows the little ones to learn to program in a modular and easy way.
Cubetto left long ago through the kickstarter platform to get the necessary financing. Not only has that money been obtained, but we can also purchase a Cubetto kit through its official website. This programmable toy is based on the designs of the Arduino board with the Atmel chipset, the same one that we find on the boards Arduino UNO.
However the price of Cubetto is not the same as Arduino UNO. In this case the price of the toy is 200 euros, a price a bit high although the benefits that are acquired with it are very high. Although perhaps, being Free Hardware, you can build yourself a toy that teaches programming to the little ones and not so young What do you think?
