Diskio Pi, a tablet whose heart is a Raspberry Pi

diskio pi

Today I want to talk to you about a very special project, so much as to show us that you don't have to be a computer engineer to develop anything you can think of with a Raspberry Pi. In the case of diskio pi, a very interesting tablet, we are talking about a project carried out by Guillard Debray, a worker from an optician with a lot of imagination.

Before continuing, make it clear that we cannot compare Diskio Pi with a tablet as such and much less with the maximum exponents within this market such as the products of large companies such as Samsung or Apple, rather we should define Diskio Pi as a device with a touch screen It includes everything necessary to function except for the processor, one of the choices that all users interested in the project must make.

Diskio Pi, an interesting way to equip your Rasbperry Pi with a touch screen

According to the author himself, it must be the user himself who incorporates the processor into his Diskio Pi, in this way you will be free to choose between any of the most famous controllers on the market, from the Raspberry Pi 2, Raspberry Pi 3 or Raspberry Pi Zero to any of the two most current models in the Odriod range such as the C1 or the C2.

To this peculiar characteristic we must also add the fact that we must install an operating system on our controller, something that you should also do for yourself and where you have a lot of freedom of choice and you can opt for systems as different and peculiar as Ubuntu 16.04, Raspbian Pixel and even Android 5.1 Lollipop.

If you are interested in this project, thanks to the large number of options that it can allow, tell you that it is available for you to collaborate with the financing of it through Kickstarter at a price of $350, price for which you can get everything you need to build this tablet except, as indicated above, the driver that you must buy separately in case you do not have a Raspberry Pi or Odroid and install the operating system.
