Anonymously donate a 3D printer to the Salamanca hospital

Salamanca hospital

Today we wake up with news as interesting as it is unexpected since, as reported, from the Salamanca Biomedical Research Institute (Spain) a person whose name did not want to reveal, has donated to the Salamanca Hospital a 3D printer valued at $1.600 so that it can be used and contribute to improving the care and treatment of patients in the hospital itself.

In turn, from the hospital itself, it has been announced that they want to use the 3D printer to create sketches of patients' fractured bones to, after printing them, allow doctors that they can use to study the best way to proceed before an operation. Thanks to this possibility, the technique used will be significantly improved, the time spent in performing the surgery will be reduced and the patient will be given a better recovery.

A person, completely anonymously, has donated a 3D printer valued at 1.600 euros to the Salamanca Hospital.

As a detail, tell you that the 3D printer received by the hospital is a conventional model capable of working with both rigid and flexible plastic, which means that it cannot be used to create prostheses that can be later implanted in patients. These prostheses are usually made of titanium and for this, as you surely know, a much more specific 3D printer is required whose value usually exceeds 500.000 euros.
