Drones against deforestation of our forests

deforestation

According to recent studies, apparently we are losing due to fires, logging ... every year about 15.000 million trees of which we are only able to re-plant about 9.000 million, which means that, year after year we lose a staggering 6.000 billion trees worldwide, enough to increase deforestation and degradation of forest ecosystems.

Such is the need to find a new system that offers us the possibility of planting trees much faster than, due to the loss of all these trees, we owe precisely to this deforestation no less than 17% of carbon emissions worldwide. , according to a study carried out by United Nations.

Susan Graham presents her interesting idea to end global deforestation.

One of the most interesting tools that we could develop and in which it already works Susan Graham is to be able to plant trees using drones for them. According to their preliminary research, thanks to the use of this technology we could plant up to 1.000 million trees each pipe in a completely autonomous way since the drones themselves would be in charge of exploring the terrain, identifying the most interesting areas to plant trees and planting them themselves without the need for any human being in the area.

With this idea as a banner, Susan Graham has decided to create her own company, BioCarbon Engineering, based in the city of Oxford. This initiative has been joined by none other than Lauren Fletcher, a former NASA engineer who worked for more than 20 years on projects related to the International Space Station and even in the search for life on Mars.

At an economic level Susan is very clear about it since, as she has commented, her project offers a solution to be able to plant 10X faster delivery than what a human being does in a natural way adding, in turn, a cost that is a 20% cheaper.
