Drones will be the new graffiti artists in the not too distant future

Little by little, new uses for drones are emerging, with each new idea a new iteration of each model appears on the market in such a way that they are becoming more complete at the same time that we find specific units for certain uses due to their technological endowment or capacity in terms of autonomy or power.

One of the next qualities that drones will show off in the not too distant future is to be able to paint any type of wall as if it were a graffiti artist or at least this is what they are trying to do. Carlo Ratti Associates, an Italian design and innovation company with its 'Paint by Drone' project where it seeks to design a central administration system capable of regulating the autonomous work of up to four devices equipped, each with a different paint.

Carlo Ratti seeks to decorate our cities based on drones.

Explains Carlo Ratti, company founder:

The central management system is software capable of controlling drone operations in real time by employing an advanced monitoring system that precisely follows the positions of the UAVs. This is a key technological development, since it allows to work with the precise paint, something that would be practically impossible otherwise.

Drones are becoming an increasingly common part of our daily lives. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, by 2020 there may be 1.3 million 'quadcopter' type drones flying in the skies of the United States alone.

Over the next few months we hope to develop a plug-and-play system that will allow the technology to be deployed in the blink of an eye on virtually any vertical surface. Imagine how this could make the listing of public works of art both easier and more secure, both in the urban context and at the infrastructure level. Could this lead to colorful roads, galleries, bridges, and viaducts?
