Eiro, a nice robot created by 3D printing

Euro

We start the week and today I want to present you a more than interesting proposal that comes to us from the Spanish company, based specifically in Santiago de Compotela, Neukos Robotics. Specifically I'm talking about Euro, an open source programmable humanoid-looking robot that reaches the market precisely to bring the world of robotics closer to all people, regardless of age, who are interested in starting out.

Because of this we have to understand Eiro rather as an educational kit, because of this it will arrive at your home fully disassembled, in order to make the user start learning from point 0, that is, learn how to assemble a robot that in turn, once it has been programmed, will be able to move legs, arms and head so that, among others functionalities that occur to us, is to be able to walk, dance, play, make sounds, avoid obstacles ...

On the other hand, perhaps it is the part that seems most interesting to me, I have to remind you that we are facing an Open Source proposal (Open Source) this basically means that any user can modify Eiro with total freedom so, if you manage to create a community enough wide, surely there will be numerous tutorials in it where anyone can modify this little robot both at the structural level and at the software level to carry out many more actions.

As a detail, tell you that Eiro's design, as you can see in the image gallery, is based on the traditional Galician dance costume, hence, for example, the pieces that make up the robot's body present shades of red and black, while his head has this peculiar shape. In addition to this, something that will help you, tell you that we are talking about a model whose measurements are 140 x 150 x 93 mm with a final weight of 880 grams.

As a controller, we have a board compatible with Arduino that in turn has been equipped with different sensors such as a buzzer, ultrasounds, seven servos, an RGB LED, a micro-USB slot and a Bluetooth connection. Thanks to the latter, any user can get control your little robot using an Android app. For this, the company has developed a control application compatible with Google's mobile operating system.
