During 2016 we met HP's first 3D printer, the world's largest manufacturer and seller of normal printers. A printer that has been well received but has not yet reached any customer.

In 2017 we will also know new HP products related to 3D printing, specifically we will know Sprout Pro Object Scanner, a remodeled scanner from HP and with new hardware and software that will allow us to obtain new 3D models from already real objects.

During CES 2017 HP has presented Sprout Pro, a scanner that comes equipped with an improved and larger screen that will allow to visualize the scanned object, in addition the cameras have been improved with respect to the previous model that allow to create optimized 3D models, with more precision and obtained in a faster way.

Sprout Pro is a professional but expensive object scanner from HP

This is achieved thanks to the change of processor of the device, the new Intel i7, next to a new graphics card, the Nvidia GTX 960M that will manage everything related to graphics. Sprout Pro contains a software called WorkTools that, in addition to managing all the processes, also improves the functioning of the gadget with Windows 10 computers.

Sprout Pro will start the sale during the month of March at the approximate price of $ 2.000. In addition, HP has reported that it is already shipping the first units of its HP Multi-Jet Fusion 3D printer.

Sprout Pro is a great device but possibly don't outperform other object scanners like BQ's Ciclops or other free gadgets. Also, curiously, free scanners are more affordable than this Sprout Pro. Come on, for the price of this scanner we can get two free printers with two free scanners that could do the same or cover our needs regarding 3D printing. Do not you think?
