Intel Joule, a processor that comes to conquer the world of the Internet of Things

IntelJoule

Intel wants to regain its throne as a technology company, for this it must once again be that innovative company that is committed to being in all markets as a spearhead. Thanks to this and after losing the first battle in the mobile world, they once again counterattack announcing an alliance with ARM while continuing their expansion in the world of drones, virtual reality and the Internet of Things.

It is precisely in the Internet of Things where, during the celebration of the Intel Developers Forum that is being held this week in San Francisco, the company has just announced IntelJoule, a computer board or microcomputer with more than interesting characteristics, as well as, in terms of brute force and characteristics, to be even superior to everything offered by alternatives such as Raspberry Pi 3 and the like.

Intel Joule, a proposal capable of surpassing Raspberry Pi 3

Going into a little more detail we find that Intel Joule is a low consumption chip which, as you can see in the header image, is little bigger than a coin. Despite its size, we are talking about a system designed to be used in computer vision functions, robotics, DIY projects, drones, Internet of Things, virtual reality ...

As a detail, tell you that Intel Joule supports RealSense cameras that detect movements and uses the operating system UbuntuLinuxCore. As a detail, tell you that it will be available in Two versions different:
