Israel acquires drones equipped with submachine guns for fighting in cities

Israel

As expected, the drones finally seem to have reached the war zones to stay. If until not long ago they were literally home-modified by ISIS to be equipped with bombs, now it has been the Israeli army that has just announced the purchase of several units of drones equipped with submachine guns to carry out combat in urban areas.

As several experts have already announced, apparently this new generation of drones will not be able to replace infantrymen or special forces although surely if it is capable of greatly increasing the military capabilities of the units that are capable of using them.

Duke Robotics has been the company in charge of the development and construction of the armed drones that will arrive in Israel

This new model of drone, officially baptized with the name of Tikad, has been developed and built by the US-based company, Duke robotics. Among its most notable features, tell you that it has eight rotors, enough to have the capacity to carry any infantry weapon, from an assault rifle to a 40mm caliber grenade launcher.

Apparently the main targets to be killed by this war drone will be snipers, mortars and grenade launchers ambushed on rooftops. In this simple way it is expected that a small group of combatants will be able to paralyze the actions of an entire battalion.

One of the strengths of this type of new weaponry is that, as announced by the Israeli army itself, it can be carried by a team of two or a military SUV. In case of having to go into combat, all the soldiers have to do is deploy the drone and take defensive positions. At the moment the drone cannot work autonomously but an operator is in charge of direct it by remote control.
