Kano, the famous kit, will be updated with speakers and a panel of lights

Kano

We have known a project for a long time a kit that tried to teach the little ones how a computer works and how to build it thanks to a Raspberry Pi board. East kit is called Kano and little by little it is updated.

Since last year we presented you with this kit, the project has not only obtained the necessary funding but also has managed to incorporate a screen with which we can obtain a magnificent laptop and new improvements are coming or so it has been announced.

Among the elements that will be incorporated into the project are: speakers, a webcam and a panel of lights. The first elements are already traditional, but the latter is atypical, although atypical is a computer that teaches electronics and programming to the little ones.

Kano will have a small panel of lights to learn to program visually

The panel of lights can be connected to the screen and to the Raspberry Pi to be able to learn programming through the lights, a basic and easy system for the little ones. The speakers won't be anything to write home about, but the webcam will. Far from being a traditional webcam, this camera can become a powerful motion sensor.

But everything has its buts. On this occasion, these elements and components will be added little by little to the Kano kit, so the little ones (and not so little ones) will have to wait to enjoy these elements. The release schedule that we know at the moment is as follows: the table of lights will arrive in January of next year, the camera in May and the speakers in July of that same year.

On the other hand, the crowdfunding campaign of the project has been very good and has not only allowed them to expand the project but they will also be able to expand it to other countries, something that makes the uses of Raspberry Pi expand, even more if possible. In any case, it seems that Kano is one of the laptops that more children will use in a short time Do not you think?
