The European Defense Agency already works with 3D printing

European Defense Agency

If in the United States we already know several projects where several of its military agencies already work with different 3D printing technologies, as expected, now it is the turn of other agencies from different parts of the world. This time we move to Europe where a fairly innovative project has been launched where it seeks to design military applications to the Print 3D.

The main object of this project launched by the European Defense Agency It is none other than to investigate and decide after its evaluation in what types of areas 3D printing can be a positive impact on the defensive capabilities of member countries. To convince all the analysts, a few weeks ago a demonstration on the ground was made taking advantage of some aerial military maneuvers carried out in Zaragoza.

Fundación Prodintec is the company behind the project launched by the European Defense Agency to bring 3D printing to the battlefield.

Good news in this regard is that Spain will play a leading role since the Prodintec Foundation He has already been working for many months with the multinational MBDA to be able to manufacture a mobile unit that can use additive manufacturing technologies, which would mean that any army could use this technology on the ground, wherever they are deployed.

As commented Inigo Felgueroso, Prodintec manager:

It is a very ambitious idea in which we have been able to implement several projects that we have been working on for many years. A job that changes the concept we have of factories.

The deadlines imposed, as in all these projects, have been very demanding. However, we are very happy with the way everything has developed.
