The DGT will use airplanes and drones to fine drivers

DGT

The DGT (General Directorate of Traffic) has just launched a new press release announcing the launch of a new Strategic Plan for air resources, if the name can already lead us to suspicion, even more so when we find out that they plan to incorporate to its network of helicopters and radars of all kinds, different media such as airplanes and even drones that will begin to operate as outsourced media.

Apparently, the objective that the DGT would have with this action is to increase the effectiveness of traffic regulation and control. On the other hand, as officials within the organization have communicated, it seems that the implementation of this new Plan will mean significant improvements in road safety for all drivers, while at the same time allowing the rationalization of spending so that a medium can be used different air depending on the operation to be performed.

The DGT is committed to the use of new technologies when reporting all drivers in a much more effective way

In case you think that everything is left here, nothing is further from reality, since the DGT Plan, in addition to betting on the acquisition of airplanes and drones, also contemplates the replacement of part of your current helicopters, which apparently are close to the end of their operating cycle, by a new generation much more suitable and equipped with the latest technology.

At the moment and as has been communicated, the DGT would already be carrying out a series of pilot tests of these novel systems in order to determine in a much more real and exact way the potential and applicability that this type of technology can offer within the available aerial systems in relation to the observation of traffic from the air and with the detection of certain infractions to the regulations traffic, motor vehicle circulation and road safety.
