FIFA uses 3D printing to manufacture the trophy "The Best"

FIFA

As you surely know, there is no newspaper in Spain in which the sports section has not talked about Cristiano Ronaldo and the title «The Best«, This Monday the FIFA organized a gala where the best soccer players in Europe were to be awarded. It is now that we find out, from Ana Barbic Katicic, the designer and creator of this cup, how to make it using 3D printing manufacturing techniques.

Going into a little more detail, the cup, we are talking about a trophy that weighs about 6,4 kilograms, has been made of aluminum, brass and carbon fiber. According to the Croatian designer herself, it seems to be inspired by the simplicity and minimalismWhile the ball that appears in the highest part of the trophy is inspired by the one used in the first World Cup final that, at that time, was played in a match between Uruguay and Argentina in 1930.

The designer of the trophy "The Best" talks about how 3D printing was used in the creation of the new FIFA trophy.

As the own Ana Barbic Katicic:

It was a dream come true. I am so happy to have been a part of this project and to be connected with these high-tech experts who produced it. It looks wonderful, it is so fine, so precise, so detailed. It combines simplicity and minimalism that were the ideas behind the trophy and it is truly magical.

We shared the same opinion that we should not deviate from the classical conventions and we should deviate from the classical conventions and we should respect the identity of FIFA. The trophy respects and honors the same values that have been the cornerstone of this sport since the earliest days, and we try to celebrate them with this ironic new trophy.
