Loom, a new example of flexible clothing manufactured by 3D printing

Loom

This time we have to talk about a new job done by the company Food Additive, a project where different architectures and properties of the materials have been studied to be able to manufacture an expandable, adaptable, flexible dress that is ready to be worn by anyone after being made using 3D printing techniques.

Specifically and for this example that you can see on the screen, or in an interesting video that I have left you just below these lines, tell you that FFF type 3D printing technology has been used through which different textile elements have been combined with the manufacture additive. In this way it has been possible to make the idea created from a sketch of Maria Alejandra Mora-Sánchez.

Cosine Additive and the designer María Alejandra Mora-Sánchez are the architects of a dress capable of adapting to the body of any person manufactured by 3D printing

As the designer herself has commented, in order to be able to manufacture this dress, and above all obtain these results, both her team and Cosine Additive have had to work for several months testing materials until they found the right settings to work with. thermoplastic polyurethane. Another point where work has been done has been on the ideal technology for its manufacture, at first it was tested with selective laser sintering, although finally it was opted for the manufacture by fused filament.

As you can see in the video and so says the designer María Alejandra Mora-Sánchez, the key to being able to make a dress like this, capable of adapting to anyone's body, is in the use of de augtic structures. This type of structure, in addition to being designed to offer a great sensation to the eye, allows the dress to offer great freedom of movement without losing its essential shape.
