It seems that educational robots are here to stay and not only will we see it in everyday life but it also promises to be a good gift this Christmas. If not long ago I was talking about Zowi, an intelligent robot from the Spanish brand BQ, today I bring you M-Bot, a similar robot but of a foreign brand. When I say similar I mean that its function is the same as Zowi, that is, to teach the child or young person the fundamentals of robotics, expand it and program new functions thanks to Scratch.
Perhaps the difference between Zowi and M-Bot is that Zowi stands on two "feet" or legs and M-Bot has a chassis with four wheels, that is, a terrestrial drone appearance. Of course, M-Bot is compatible with many Arduino boards, something that Zowi also does, but unlike this one, in M-Bot we can connect them directly and make them work well. the boards that M-Bot contains are boards from the Arduino Project.
Educational packaging is important in these cases, so M-Bot contains not only interactive guides but also contains two ebooks inside that will teach the young man to assemble it and also to program new functions with videos, etc ... Also in the official website We will find all the necessary information as well as the hardware to be able to create an M-Bot ourselves or, failing that, expand and improve it, whatever we prefer.
Personally, I found M-Bot very interesting for its capabilities and your educational background, but the truth is that if you ask me who I have to stay with, I would choose Zowi, because of its Spanish origins and also because it recreates a more humanoid aspect than M-Bot, I think that for children, young people and adults, the power to create a robot like C3PO is something that catches our attention, although I recognize that M-bot is not a bad project What do you think?
