Make your own arcade game machine thanks to 3D printing

Arcade

If you are nostalgic for that time when, as children and not so young, we could meet our friends in those arcades full of arcade video game machines, which, perhaps not with such abundance and diversity, you could find in all kinds of bars, pubs and public places, maybe now is the time for you to make your own Arcade although of a size much easier to transport.

Thanks to Christopher Tan, a lover of this type of Arcade consoles with their huge furniture, controls, levers and cores, today you have the opportunity to get the plans to build, as you can see in the image located at the top of this same post, your own console in the one to return to enjoy such legendary titles as Super Pang, Pacman, Arkanoid and even Space Invaders.

Christopher Tan shows us how to create an interesting and peculiar arcade machine by 3D printing.

To get this Arcade machine, young Christopher Tan has decided to use the Print 3D for its manufacture. As a detail, tell you that to carry out this sensational project he had to invest more than 100 hours in three-dimensional printing work, tests, adjustments of all the pieces or in the installation of a Raspberry Pi used as a base for the installation of the screen LCD where you will view your game or as a keypad controller.

As the young man in charge of the development of this project recounts, apparently the idea of creating an Arcade machine arose when it was made with a simple and rudimentary 3D printing kit. We are talking about a small 3D printer with a base that allowed him, at most, to create pieces with a maximum dimensions of 22 x 22, which forced him to design his machine with a large number of small parts.

Even so, as you can see in the video, the end result is simply amazing since it has managed to develop a structure equipped with a 8 inch With 1024 x 768 resolution that has been decorated on a vinyl basis. If you are interested in creating your own Arcade machine, tell yourself that you have all the steps in hackday.

Personally, I find that the box is easier to make in DM, OSB, chipboard, ... You save a lot of work since it is to cut and sand it. But as an idea it is not bad to do it with a 3D printer.
