Make your own mobile for less than 50 euros

Although at first it seems that all Open Source projects are usually quite complex, especially when you are starting, the truth is that once you have acquired practice and skill, you begin to see them in a completely different way. This is what you should do with the idea of make your own mobile, a project where its author has managed to spend just under 50 euros in pieces.

The first thing we must bear in mind is that to carry out this project we need a Raspberry Pi Zero, a board that will be the basis of its operation and to which we will have to add certain components such as a 2G modem (this piece can be replaced by a 3G modem), a WiFi chip, HDMI and audio output, a USB Host port, numeric keypad and a small 1,3-inch screen.

ZeroPhone, a mobile that you must make yourself

It is curious that the authors behind the creation of this project, baptized as ZeroPhone, decided to work on the creation of this terminal because, at least that is how they tell it, they were tired of mobile phones becoming more and more complex, less accessible and above all more complicated when it comes to repairing any type of breakdown, to which we must add that they are increasingly controlled by manufacturers.

Undoubtedly an idea that, as you can see, with just a few technical knowledge, can lead you to create great things, or at least to work on projects where you have fun learning. A point that especially catches my attention, and that the authors leave in the hands of anyone who wants to create a ZeroPhone, is the case of the case since, for now, there is nothing that can coat the circuitry.

If you are interested in creating your own ZeroPhone, tell you that in HackADay you have all the information about it.
