Materialize buys ACTech for 36,6 million euros

materialize

One of the sectors related to 3D printing that has been growing the most in recent months is, without a doubt, that related to metal working. Due to this, it is not surprising that the largest companies in the sector want to reinforce this part of their business either with new developments and investment in research and development or directly with the purchase of companies that can offer them all this. This is specifically the case of materialize.

As the world of 3D printing advances today, Materialize knew that to be a benchmark within this market sector they had to make a huge investment and wait for it to bear fruit, something that could finally always lead them to the queue of bigger. Due to this they have decided to take out the portfolio and go the shortest way, buying a company that was already a benchmark in the world of metal 3D printing, such as ACTech, a company that is located in Freiberg, a city halfway between Dresden and Chemnitz.

Materialize becomes a benchmark in the world of metal 3D printing thanks to the purchase of ACTech

As revealed by nothing less than Wilfried Vancraen, founder and current CEO of Materialize:

ACTech is familiar with metals and their processing for production standards. In this way, thanks to the experience we have in Materialize in terms of the control of metal 3D printing, the union of the two companies will be indispensable, to produce high quality 3D printed metal objects for special applications.

Materialize has invested in this purchase no less than 36,6 million euros. Thanks to this investment, you will be able to gain all the knowledge regarding rapid prototyping and even CNC model manufacturing and processing with which to provide your customers with prototypes faster than conventional models.
