MEG, a free project to build your own greenhouse

One of the things I like the most about Hardware Libre is that we can recreate the great projects that we see on the Internet or on TV ourselves and at a fairly low cost.

TO

A good example of this is the Arduino derivative projects and its application to the agricultural world. So it is especially interesting the latest project launched, the MEG.

This project, MEG (Micro Experimental Growing) will be presented in the next Hack 2015 and unlike the rest of the projects, in this no only the design is free and the components but also the recipes to grow. That is, once we build our MEG greenhouse, we only need to follow the recipe for a certain crop to the letter and it will only be a matter of time before we harvest.

I like hardware libre and is based on using Arduino boardAlthough the design of this greenhouse is quite special since it can recreate the microclimate that we want and we can manipulate it from our Smartphone, so if we notice that the earth is very dry, we can apply a programmed irrigation from our Smartphone and we will not need to carry out the task or be present to activate it.

MEG will spread free recipes on how to grow with MEG

In addition, the creator of the project has launched a crowdfunding campaign to develop and sell MEG greenhouses for those who prefer to buy it and not build it.
There are many greenhouse projects with hardware libre, but I think this one will stand out quite a bit from the rest since it has a very interesting addition, the “free recipes"Although many are handymen and can build a greenhouse, not all are expert farmers and this way of recipes may be very helpful for many, not counting the social effect that it will produce since the MEG will allow us to grow crops of plants where they usually do not occur due to the climate or humidity, etc ... Of course I will not lose sight of the project, although what I may do is build one and test it.what do you say?
