Marketing, a wide field for 3D Printing

merchandising

During this time I have tried to indicate the uses that a normal person can give to 3D Printing in their normal life. We have talked about the repercussions it has for Agriculture, for the Motor world, for Health and even as educational functions, but the one I have seen recently is not a very popular use even though it is great.

We are talking about use of 3D printing in merchandising. Surely many of you are using a pen or a promotional accessory, something that despite having a low cost and quite bad materials, can be useful for many functions.

These promotional items are made in order to make good merchandising, good publicity for your company or your products. For many companies, especially small and medium-sized companies, the marketing item can be a great expense since products are usually bought in large quantities. Now thanks to a 3D printer custom objects can be printed that customers will be able to use regularly such as pens, covers for coffee, portable glasses, key chains, clips, etc ... a personalized and affordable merchandising for anyone.

3D printing may have a great future in the field of merchandising

The calculations are simple. A 3D printer in Spain costs about 500 euros, the kilo of material is usually between 10 and 15 euros per kilogram that results in a few key rings, pens, paper clips, etc ... personalized objects that for less than 20 euros we can get it in a matter of hours and always to our liking. The customization of pens or keychains usually have a similar price if you buy 500 units or more.

Surely many of you will tell me that if you have to give 1000 keyrings, the option of the promotional material is always better than 3D printing, you are right, but those orders really correspond to large companies, something that is currently in short supply.

In spite of everything, currently 3D printing is not used for marketing, for the merchandising of a company. But it seems that with the influx of technology, more than one Spanish SME will start to use it as SMEs in other countries are currently doing.
