Miam Factory, the company that makes chocolate by 3D printing and sends it to your home

Miam factory

Many are the companies, which in one way or another, have been working on the development of 3D chocolate printing, although, although some are capable of producing objects with this sweet material, it seems that none are encouraged to carry out a large-scale production except for some exceptions such as the case of Miam factory, company founded at the end of 2016.

Based on the statements made by the Gaëtan richard, chemist and founder of Miam Factory who has been working in the department of culinary innovation at the University of Liège for more than ten years:

There are companies that sell printers, but we are the only ones who manufacture parts to order. The client comes to see us with an idea in mind and we manufacture the product in chocolate. Nobody else does that. The aim is to offer chocolatiers and pastry chefs the possibility of doing other things and expanding their creativity with pieces that until now they could not do.

Miam Factory, a company with the capacity to manufacture by 3D printing the object you imagine in chocolate

To date, the company already has up to seven machines capable of work with layers two millimeters high with materials as different as dark, white, milk and blonde chocolate (created from caramelised almonds). To be able to be worked in 3D printing, the chocolate must be previously treated to achieve the specific temperature and consistency.

As a final detail, tell you that thanks to the quality achieved in its work, Miam Factory has been required to work on products for multinational companies such as chemistry. Solvay, responsible for the manufacture of Bacardi rum, or the electric company Elia. In addition to these it has also worked for many individuals manufacturing certain objects that have subsequently been exhibited at weddings or birthdays.
