Microlay presents DentalFab, a 3D printer for dentistry

Microlay DentalFab

microlay is a recently created Spanish startup whose main promoters have come from KitPrinter3D, another pioneering Spanish company in the sale and manufacture of kilts of FDM printers, better known throughout Europe for being the manufacturer of SolidRay, the first 3D printer kit with SLA technology Low cost. Thanks to all the experience gained in KitPrinter3D, the founders of Microlay have been able to create the DentalFab, the first Spanish 3D printer specifically designed to meet the needs of both dental laboratories and the clinics themselves.

Among the most interesting technical characteristics implemented by Microlay in DentalFab, it is worth highlighting, for example, how in a fairly compact size it has been possible to introduce all the necessary systems to offer a 3D printer fast as well as a lot precision y resolution. In addition to these characteristics, we must mention the creation of a for mobile devices to report the exclusively designed to allow any user to master the operation of the machine in just a few minutes.

Microlay DentalFab, a 3D printer specifically designed for dental laboratories and clinics.

Its operation is very simple, a medical professional will use a intraoral scanner to create and export the digital file of a patient's mouth that will later be created by the printer in a few minutes. How could it be otherwise, this file can be sent to DentalFab either through a pendrive or directly from a connection WiFi local. In this way and only in a matter of hours you can obtain castable prostheses, models, surgical guides ...

At the hardware level, it should be noted that DentalFab has been equipped with a platform capable of offering a work volume of 107 x 60 x 165 mm. Thanks to its touch screen with a very clean and intuitive interface, it is possible to quickly manage all kinds of parameters related to the daily use of the machine. In turn, all this information can be managed from different applications available for PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone.

One of the functions that most caught my attention is found in the post-processing camera installed in this machine. Thanks to this, once the pieces have been created with light-curing resin, through the use of two UV LED lamps of 9W each and 365nm + 405 nm, a perfect finish can be achieved. In addition, thanks to its rotating plate, it facilitates that the curing is uniform throughout the piece.
